🪑 Final Verdict

When I first received the Minikin, I loved it so much I bought another. They were going to be my nic salt systems. I love the interface because it’s simple and easy to use. The adjustable wattage allows me to switch from freebase to nic salts whenever I wanted. It feels great in your hand and is small enough to carry in your pocket all day long.

Everything was going great. I had my two Minikin pods and I would switch off every day or two. Life was good… until it wasn’t. I ordered a few packs of 0.8 ohm coils to stock up and not worry about running out any time soon and the flavor out of the new coils was so muted I could taste almost nothing. I tried the same salt juices in other pods and the flavor was like a punch in the mouth. I spent quite a bit stocking up, but so far I’ve been through almost half of the coils and they all taste like nothing at all. I’ve tried different boxes of coils and they’ve all been duds. You’re going to get bad coils from time to time, it happens. I get that. But every single one has been horrible.

I don’t want to spend more money on replacement coils when I have 4 boxes of coils sitting on my shelf and it feels like a waste of money taking a chance hoping more will work. I can spend that money on another pod system or tank that I can rely on. I hate seeing the Minikin sit and not be used, but I can’t justify spending more money on a gamble. I don’t know what changed with the coils or if I’m just extremely unlucky. A 3 pack is about $10 online, but when you add shipping you’re looking at around $20 for 3 coils that you can only hope work.

I love the Minikin. I love the interface and the simplicity of the UI. I love the hand feel. This pains me to say but I can’t recommend this system with the bad coils I’ve wasted money on. The original coils that came with the system were bangers. All the packs I’ve purchased since have been awful. Ratings below are based on the replacements.
