👀 First Impressions

Right out of the box, the Centarus N100 feels:

  • Build quality: Cheap, fragile
  • Weight: Light
  • Finish: Clear plastic
  • Ergonomics (hand feel): Fits well in hand with the button in a ergonomic location

👉 First impression: The N100 feels light, cheap and fragile out of the box. So light that the tank sitting on top made it top heavy and I always worry about it tipping over.

🎮 User Interface & Controls

  • Button layout: Single button
  • Menu system: Minimal but easy to navigate with the ring
  • Screen visibility: Clear display
  • Ease of navigation: Fairy easy to navigate

👉 Beginner friendly? Yes

🔋 Battery Life (Real-World Use)

  • Light use: A couple of days
  • Moderate use: A day
  • Heavy use: Less than a day
  • Efficiency: Battery life is about what you’d expect. I wouldn’t worry about having to charge the batteries if I left for the day with it with normal use.

👉 Daily usability: Because of it’s light weight, it’s easy to transport.

🔌 Charging & Battery Management

  • Charging speed: N/A
  • Battery door / compartment: You can remove the side panel with a finger nail to access the battery. It’s held in pretty tight but the strap under the battery makes removing it easily. If you forget to place the strap under the battery it’s harder to get it out.

👉 Recommendation: Always use an external charger when possible

🔗 Compatibility & Versatility

  • Tank compatibility: Can use 510 RBA’s with DIY mode
  • Max tank size (flush fit): Flush fit
  • Works best with: Sub ohm tanks

👉 Versatility verdict: Recommend using sub ohm tanks with this mod, it felt like it struggled a bit at higher wattage outputs.

💧 Durability & Reliability

  • Build durability: Feels very fragile and breakable
  • Wear & tear: With careful use it held up
  • Any issues (misfires, errors, etc.): No misfires

👉 Reliability verdict: Because of it’s lightweight, I was very careful with this mod. If it tips over and hits a corner just right I can see the plastic cracking or breaking. So extra care is needed.

👍 What It Gets Right

✔ Lightweight
✔ Easy to navigate the menus
✔ Nice display

👎 Where It Falls Short

✖ Feels very cheap and fragile
✖ The button isn’t always consistent and sometimes you really have to push it to fire

🧠 Who This Mod Is For

This device is a good fit if you:

  • Beginners looking for something pleasant to look at
  • Someone looking for a lightweight mod that is easy to carry around

Skip it if you:

  • Put your devices through the motions and aren’t as careful with them
  • Want your device to feel well put together and substantial

🪑 Final Verdict

The Centarus N100 by Lost Vape has a pleasant aesthetic but feels brittle and delicate.

👉 Overall take: I picked up this mod from my local vape store because I needed another device for all the tanks we’ve been accumulating for reviews and normal use. The sales person explained that they were on sale because people didn’t like the cheap feel of the device. That didn’t stop me because I’m very careful with my devices and the device has a nice presentation.

Unfortunately, after using the mod for some time the delicate feeling made me regret the purchase. The lightweight is great, until you put a heavy tank on top and it always feels like a little bit of wind will knock it over. I worry about the device falling over because it feels like it would break. With the battery the only thing giving this mod weight it always has weight on one side and makes it feel unstable just sitting on a flat surface.

The side panels are a way to customize, which is fine I guess but that doesn’t appeal to me. They are held on by magnets and while holding the mod they are always shifting around and clicking, making this mod feel like it could fall apart at any moment.

The wattage can be controlled with the ring around the fire button, which I liked until I started unintentionally adjusting it with normal use. The fire button is a little inconsistent with having to really press it down sometimes. It would have been nice to have a lock button for the wattage to avoid that.

If you’re looking for a mod to use as a spare or you’re just starting out, this could work for you. The menus are minimal, which is a plus. But I can’t get over the cheap, plastic feel of this device. Yes, it performs and does what you ask of it, but with so many other solid mods out there to choose from, there are better options to spend your hard earned money on.

⭐ Score: 5 / 10
