There’s something missing in the vaping space and honestly, it’s what pushed us to start The Fog Lounge.
Too many reviews feel the same. Everything is “the best thing ever”… until it’s not. One week it’s hyped up, the next week it disappears completely. And if you’ve ever bought something based on those reviews, only to be disappointed, you already know exactly what we’re talking about.
So we figured why not just be honest about it?
That’s what this podcast (and this blog) is about.
Why We Started The Fog Lounge
For us, vaping started as something simple. It wasn’t always a full-on hobby, it was just something we had in common. Over time, though, it turned into something we genuinely enjoy: trying new flavors, experimenting with setups, figuring out what works and what doesn’t.
But the deeper we got into it, the more we noticed a problem:
- Honest reviews are hard to find
- Negative feedback often gets buried or ignored
- Everything feels like an ad
We’ve personally had reviews not get posted just because they were critical.
And that’s frustrating, especially when you’re spending your own money.
So The Fog Lounge is our way of doing things differently:
- No paid hype
- No sugarcoating
- Just real opinions, good or bad
What You Can Expect From the Podcast
Moving forward, you can expect:
- Weekly episodes (new episodes every Friday)
- Honest juice and device reviews
- Conversations about what we’re currently vaping
- Deep dives into setups, tanks, and building
- Occasional interviews with people in the industry
We’re not here to pretend we know everything, we’re learning as we go, just like a lot of you.
And that’s part of the fun.
What We’re Vaping Right Now
One of our favorite parts of the show is talking about what’s actually in rotation and right now, there’s a lot.
Some standouts:
- Sully’s (Cherry Lime Ricky) – insanely accurate flavor with a citrus rind finish
- Playland (Cotton Candy Ice Cream) – quickly becoming a favorite
- Pink Bunny (Strawberry Vanilla Wafer) – smooth and balanced
- Knife Party (Neapolitan) – part of the Stevie’s Collective lineup
- Silent Topic (Fruit Loops & Cream) – tastes like the milk after cereal
We’ve also been experimenting more with:
- Pod systems for convenience
- Salt nic for quick hits during the day
- RTAs and building (with mixed success 😅)
It’s all part of expanding our flavor and setup horizons and we’ll be talking about all of it.
Moving Away From Disposables
We’ve both used disposables, and still do from time to time, but lately we’ve been trying to move away from them.
Why?
- They don’t last nearly as long as advertised
- They add up fast cost-wise
- We’re finding way better flavors from independent juice makers
Instead, we’ve been using pod systems when we’re out and saving our full setups for home.
It’s not about being “better” than disposables, it’s just about finding what works best for us.
A Big Focus: Supporting Independent Juice Makers
One thing we’ve really started to appreciate is how much care goes into independent juice making.
There’s a level of craftsmanship there that you don’t always get from mass-produced products.
And some of the best flavors we’ve had recently have come from smaller creators who are doing it because they love it, not just to sell units.
That’s something we definitely want to highlight more moving forward.
The Fog Lounge Philosophy (Our Hot Take)
We ended the episode with something that pretty much defines this whole project:
There’s no “right way” to vape.
- Use disposables? Cool
- Build your own coils? Cool
- Only vape occasionally? Cool
- Still smoke cigarettes sometimes? Also cool
This isn’t a space for gatekeeping.
If you enjoy it, you belong here.
Simple as that.
